Social Skills!

Psychology Today defines social skills as the abilities necessary to get along with others and to create and maintain satisfying relationships.

Rourke currently has a collection of 20 social skills titles in production. This new collection titled “Little World Social Skills” will have 10 fiction titles paired with 10 nonfiction titles. These titles will include social skills topics such as integrity, honesty, sharing, bullying, problem solving, optimism, and more.

These titles will include a cast of characters that will be present in each book. These new characters are designed to inform and educate readers about each social skill in a fun and engaging manner. The characters can be found in the fiction and nonfiction books.

This collection of books will also be part of a larger program entitled Social Skills and More (SSAM). This program will include the 20 paired social skills titles, a comprehensive teacher’s guide providing information on how to integrate social skills lessons into the classroom, paired lessons with photo cards, reproducibles, posters, and parent videos – provided to support parent education and home-school connections.
